Carmzow-Wallmow

Carmzow- Wallmow is a municipality in the extreme north of the district Uckermark in Brandenburg. The municipality is the Office Bruessow (Uckermark), which is domiciled in the city Bruessow. It was created on 31 December 2001 from the merger of the previously independent municipalities Carmzow and Wallmow.

Geography

The municipality is located on a moraine, which spreads between the parallel valleys of the Ucker and Randow. It is characterized by many small lakes and ponds, as well as by intensive agriculture and a few forest areas. In the surroundings there are a large number of wind turbines. Carmzow- Wallmow lies between the cities Bruessow and Prenzlau.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Carmzow and Wallmow and from the parts of the municipality Cremzow, Hedwigshof and Wendtshof.

In the list of monuments in Carmzow- Wallmow are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

Infrastructure

1999, a free school was opened in Wallmow.

To the west of the district Carmzow leads the Baltic Sea motorway A 20 over, south of the hamlet Wallmow the federal motorway 11 The nearest railway station is at 15 kilometers southwest lying county town Prenzlau.

History

Carmzow

Through archaeological finds between the church and the Bröckersee the existence of a Slavic settlement of the 12th and early 13th century can be provided. The documentary first mention of the place is busy as karnssow for the year 1354.
