Castelsilano

Castelsilano is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Crotone in Calabria with 1020 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). The community is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Crotone. Through the municipal area of ​​the reading flow.

History

The municipality was created in 1811 with the name of the casino from the village called Castrum Casini ( 1685 arose ). Since 1950 the church has its present name. 1980 crashed a Libyan MiG -23 in the municipal area from ( Strage di Ustica ).
