Verzino

Verzino is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Crotone in Calabria with 1943 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). The community is located about 35 kilometers northwest of Crotone and directly borders the province of Cosenza.

History

According to legend, Verzino to have been built by the Greek hero Philoctetes. The settlement finds in any case give close to a settlement from the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.
