Mesoraca

Mesoraca is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 6640 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Crotone in Calabria. The community is located about 29 kilometers west of Crotone in the Sila Piccola. It is immediately adjacent to the province of Catanzaro.

History

As the area was settled in the fifth century BC by the Greeks, the place was called Mesorachion. A little later it was under Roman rule Mesoreacium.

1832, the area was seriously damaged by an earthquake.
