Cessaniti

Cessaniti is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3359 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria. The municipality is situated approximately 6 km west-southwest of Vibo Valentia.

History

The community was significantly affected by the earthquakes in 1638 and 1894.

The former railway connection of the community - a breakpoint, together with the neighboring community Jonadi - on the narrow-gauge railway line Vibo Valentia - Mileto (950 mm) was decommissioned in 1966.
