Dinami

Dinami is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2374 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria. The municipality is situated approximately 20 km south-southeast of Vibo Valentia and directly borders the province of Reggio Calabria. By Dinami the Mesima flows. The community is also part of the Comunità Montana dell'Alto Mesima.

History

The place was frequently hit by natural disasters. Earthquake destroyed the city in 1638, 1659, 1783 and 1908. Floods in 1959 and 1987 resulted in severe damage to homes and infrastructure.

Traffic

The northern boundary of the municipality is the Autostrada A3 from Naples to Reggio di Calabria.
