Polia

Polia is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1046 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria. The community is located about 20.5 kilometers northeast of Vibo Valentia and directly borders the province of Cosenza. The districts Cellia and Poliolo form the center of Polia.

History

By Greek settlers, the area was colonized already in the period between the 8th and 5th centuries BC.
