San Nicola da Crissa

San Nicola da Crissa is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1374 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria. The municipality is situated approximately 16 km east-southeast of Vibo Valentia and directly borders the province of Cosenza.

History

The city of Crissa was a Greek colony of the city Focea antica in Asia Minor around 650 BC. The Romans destroyed the city.

Traffic

Through the community, the Strada Statale 110 di Monte Cucco and Monte Pecoraro leads Monasterace to Pizzo.
