Comandante Fernández Department

The department Comandante Fernández is located in the center of Chaco Province in northwestern Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the department of Maipú, on the east by the department of Quitilipi, to the south the departments of San Lorenzo and O'Higgins and to the west by the Departamento Independencia.

The capital of the department Comandante Fernández is Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña. It is located 100 kilometers from the provincial capital Resistencia and 1120 km from Buenos Aires.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC population increased from 88 164 inhabitants (2001) to 91,300 inhabitants in 2005.
