Cornillon-Confoux

Cornillon- Confoux is a commune with 1342 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.

Geography

The community is located 35 kilometers west of Aix -en- Provence and twelve kilometers south of Salon-de -Provence. Neighboring towns are Saint- Chamas, Lancon -Provence and miramas. The municipality belongs to the Association of Municipalities Ouest Provence.

History

Since the Neolithic period, the area of different nations and tribes had settled. In the Middle Ages the land belonged to the Counts of Provence was and was then affiliated with the Archdiocese of Arles. The monks of the Abbey Montmajour built churches and placed the swamps.
