Coudoux
Coudoux is a commune with 3459 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur. The municipality belongs to the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Aix.
Geography
Coudoux located 17 kilometers west of Aix -en- Provence and 13 kilometers south of Salon-de -Provence in the valley of the River Arc. Neighboring towns are ventabren, La Fare -les- Oliviers, velaux and Lancon -Provence.
History
The presence of the Ligurians, Greeks, Romans and Salluvier was proved by excavations. The hamlet " Petit Coudoux " and " Grand Coudoux " originated in the 16th century as the districts of ventabren. First families moved into the village and gradually followed more and more, despite the remoteness from the main village ventabren. Finally, in 1946, agreed with the City Council of the spin-off of Coudoux. By decree of 20 March 1950, the Prefect confirmed the division of the community.
