Aurons
Auron is a commune of 532 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.
Geography
The municipality is located in the north of the department of Bouches -du -Rhône seven kilometers north-east of Salon-de -Provence. Auron is secluded between Salon-de- Provence and the Durance.
Neighboring municipalities are Alleins in the north, Vernègues in the east, in the southeast Lambesc, Pélissanne in the south, Salon-de- Provence to the west and Lamanon in the northwest.
History
The castle in the village was built in the 10th century. First, it belonged to the Counts of Provence, 1167, she went over to the Archbishop of Arles. In the 16th century the castle was repeatedly sold and destroyed during the Wars of Religion. Later it was rebuilt. In the 1930s, the castle was transformed into a kind of youth hostel. After the Second World War the castle was largely destroyed. 1956 bought the pastor of Auron the ruins.

Economy and infrastructure
The place is secluded in the hinterland of Salon-de -Provence. From the city, but it has good transport links including via the A7 and the A54.
