Daniel Dion ( " Dan " ) O'Brien ( born July 18, 1966 in Portland, Oregon ) is a former American decathlete. He is Olympic champion and three-time world champion.

Dan O'Brien is considered the best decathlete of the 1990s. In his special discipline he was in 1991 in Tokyo, in Stuttgart in 1993 and 1995 in Gothenburg for three consecutive times world champion.
