Dave Creighton

Dave Theodore Creighton (* June 24, 1930 in Port Arthur, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who 1948-1969 for various franchises of the American Hockey League ( AHL ) and the National Hockey League ( NHL) in over 1500 games on the was the location of the center active. During this time he participated five times in the NHL All -Star Game, he also was honored in 1968 as the most valuable player in the AHL with the Les Cunningham Award. His son Adam Creighton was from 1983 to 1996 also active in the National Hockey League.

Career as a player

Dave Creighton began his career in 1946 at the Port Arthur West End Bruins in the Thunder Bay Junior Hockey League, a regional Junior League of the Canadian province of Ontario. During this time he won with the Bruins after a final triumph against the Barrie Flyers to the Memorial Cup in 1948. After two seasons, he took on 5 October 1948 contract offer from the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League game. In the following four years, Creighton came in both the Bruins in the NHL, as well as for their farm team in Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League regularly used. Career as a coach

Dave Creighton from 1966 until the end of his career working as an active player in 1969 as player-coach of the Providence Reds. During this period, the Reds qualified for the seasons 1967/68 and 1968/69 for the American Hockey League play- offs and excreted in both years respectively from the second play-off round. In the AHL season 1969/70 the Providence Reds missed qualifying for the final round of the Calder Cup, after which Dave Creighton's employment was terminated with the Reds.
