David Baramidze

Grand Master (2004)

David Baramidze ( born September 27, 1988 in Tbilisi, Georgia ) is a German chess grandmaster and Youth World Championship runner.

Baramidze moved in 1998 with his family - parents and two sisters - to Germany, first to Hesse, later to Thuringia and finally to Dortmund. Here he was encouraged by the club Dortmund- Brackel, he was trained from time to time from Michael Bezold.

With the Dortmund Chess 2002 days of 13 - year-old David Baramidze defeated in a competition, the Grand Master Alisa Marić 4.5 to 3.5 points. In 2003, he won the Neckar Open in Deizisau and in 2004 was the youngest German chess grandmaster.

His biggest success was the second place in the U16 age group at the World Junior Championships 2004 in Heraklion. In the FIDE World Cup 2007 in Khanty-Mansiysk he could turn off in the first round Nigel Short, failed in the second round but at Leinier Domínguez.

Baramidze played in the chess Bundesliga for the first Solinger SG and moved in 2006 to the TSV Bindlach shareholder, then to Hamburg SK. Currently, he is for the SV Hockenheim in use. In the Austrian Bundesliga first he plays for the SK Hohenems.

Currently, he is with an Elo of 2615 (October 2012) at the position 6 of the German Elo ranking. By December 2006, he was among the top 20 junior world rankings.
