Geographical Location

Ehringhausen between Wetzlar and Herborn in the Lower Dilltal, at the mouth of the Lemp in the dill.

The municipality consists of the nine districts Breitenbach, Daubhausen, Dill Home, Dreisbach, Ehringhausen, Greifenthal, Katzenfurt, Kölsch Hausen and Niederlemp.

History

Ehringhausen was first mentioned in 802 in a deed of the Lorsch codex. According to this deed gave Inric the monastery Lorsch a paved courtyard in the Barcdorfer Mark in Lahngau. Barcdorf was in the local area of ​​the today's Ehringhausen right of dill; whether it can be regarded as the direct predecessor of Ehringhausen, but is not sure.
