Eileen Desmond

Eileen Desmond (birth name: Harrington ) ( born December 29, 1932 in Kinsale, County Cork; † 6 January 2005) was an Irish politician of the Irish Labour Party.

Biography

Eileen Desmond, was the public servants, began her political career as a candidate of the Irish Labour Party in a by -election ( By-election ) on 10 March 1965 with the election of deputies of the lower house ( Dáil Éireann ), where she served as successor of her late husband Dan Desmond to 1969 the constituency of Cork Mid represented. After a 1969 election defeat suffered and resigned from the House of Commons, she became a member of the Senate ( Seanad Eireann ) and was there until 1973 Representative of Industry and Finance.
