Mary Coughlan (politician)

Mary Coughlan ( Irish: Máire Ní Chochláinn; born May 1, 1965 in Donegal, County Donegal) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician of the party.

Since May 7, 2008, she has Tánaiste and hence Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland. She is also Education Minister of Ireland. Previously, she worked from 2008 to 2010 Minister for Trade, 2004-2008 Agriculture and Fisheries Minister from 2002 to 2004 and Minister for Social and Family Affairs. She is since 1987 Deputy ( Teachta Dala ) in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament, and there is one of three representatives for the constituency Donegal South West.
