Eimke
Eimke is a municipality in the midst of the Lüneburg Heath in the district of Uelzen, Lower Saxony. The municipality belongs to the Eimke Samtgemeinde Suderburg.

Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages of Eimke Dreilingen (including district Niebeck ) Ellerndorf, Eimke and Wicht Beck.
Still belongs to the parish Eimke the place Brambostel.
Eimke (Location )
Eimke ( place ) is the nucleus of the community Eimke. He has a total of 379 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2003) and an area of 13.64 km ², that is 27.8 inhabitants per km ².
History
The first written mention of the main town Eimke dates from the year 1148. There are but evidence from the Stone and Bronze Ages ago, such as Finds of flint tools, axes of rock and about two dozen mounds.
The church was probably built at the beginning of the 14th century. It's all about the legend that she was formerly a monastery belonging to the Ebstorfer Church Chapel. There are also about its origins a fabulous history. Then the villages Eimke, Ellerndorf, Brambostel, Dreilingen and Wicht Beck was determined to be a congregation of place Wicht Beck for church site in the merger, he was yet in the center of the parish. Explanation of the name
An old name of the village is around 1148 Embike. The root word of the name " beke " " is Low German and stands for Bach, so that is likely the Eimke from a river name. The qualifier has been handed down as " En ". For a river names " i " speaks the root " Egg", " oi ", " go " and for their extensions.
