Erlabrunn

Geography

Erlabrunn is located on State Road 2300 about 10 km north of Würzburg. The village lies on the eastern slope of the mountain people and extends to the Main. Neighboring towns are in the South Margetshöchheim and Veitshoechheim, to the west and to the north Leinach Zellingen and Thüngersheim.

There is only the district Erlabrunn. The place belongs to the administrative community Margetshoechheim, whose headquarters is located in Margetshöchheim.

History

In the 12th century the castle Falkenberg existed on the mountain folk ( the former name was Falkenberg ) at the northern end of the modern village. The inhabitants of the castle Falkenberg were vassals of Ravensburg. As punishment for the murder of the Bishop of Würzburg Conrad of cross- ford, the castle was razed.
