Geographical Location

Fensterbach is located in the Upper Palatinate region -Nord.

Districts are Dürnsricht, Frotzersricht, Högling and wolf ring.

History

The municipality was part of the bursary Amberg and the district court Nabburg of the Electorate of Bavaria. Dürnsricht was under the Pfleggericht Nabburg. In the closed Hofmark Wolfring Baron von Schönstätt held the lower courts. The newly formed municipality on 1 January 1971 Fensterbach emerged from the political community founded in 1818 Dürnsricht and wolf ring.

Incorporations

The formerly independent municipality Högling and parts of the disbanded community Frotzersricht were added on 1 January 1972. On 1 January 1973 was followed by a part of the community Ebermannsdorf, which was dissolved six months later.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of 1144 T € in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted 334 T €.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Split of black and gold; on a split of silver and blue wave bar forward a golden Rodungsbeil, behind a left inverted, red griffin's head with a Menschenanlitz in the neck. Coat of arms since 1977.

Culture and sights

  • Catholic branch church of St Margaret ( Högling ) - Gothic quarry stone (chorus church tower ) from the early 15th century, the interior of the Rococo.
  • Catholic parish church of St. Albertus Magnus ( Dürnsricht ) - Romanesque choir tower church, inaugurated in 1963 by Bishop Rudolf Graber. With effect from 1 May 1969, the parish Dürnsricht - wolf ring was built and Expositus Alois Schindler, who worked in Dürnsricht since 1952, appointed the first pastor of the new parish. 1974 the artist created Lois Wegerer the new altarpiece of the parish church: Christ as the Risen Lord in the midst of creation; on him God the Father ( eye), and the Holy Spirit ( dove ). Twelve years later, on 29 June 1986 by the Wegerer redesigned altar, ambo and tabernacle were consecrated by Bishop Manfred Müller.
  • Catholic Expositurkirche St. Michael (Wolf Ring) - A Gothic building in the 18th century, however, the Baroque style; Epitaphs of the local nobility on the outside
  • Castle Wolf Ring (Wolf Ring) - Multi-storey residential building of massive sandstone blocks; By 1570 ( inscription ) built by Melchior von Saalhausen. At this point probably was a predecessor of the High Middle Ages.

Economy, agriculture and forestry

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in manufacturing and 276 in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 56 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 893 in the manufacturing sector, there was an operation in the construction of six companies. In addition, in 1999, there were 72 farms with an agricultural area of 1260 ha, of which 1037 ha of arable land and 222 ha of permanent grassland.

Traffic

Road

Through the municipal area leads the state road in 2151 and connects the A 93 in black box by the federal highway 85 and A 6 in Amberg.

After completion of space closure of the A6 between Ebermannsdorf and the interchange Upper Palatinate Forest, a long-standing abbreviation could be closed. This resulted in a substantial discharge of Set right next to the state road districts. Previously used especially of heavy traffic from and to Prague the unofficial direct connection.

In north -south county road 24 connecting directly after Schmidgaden and county road 25 after Trisching the municipality with the neighboring community Schmidgaden.

Rail transport

In the hamlet of Freihöls the railway station is on the railway line between Nuremberg and Schwandorf, there arise on weekdays three to entry or exit ways on the weekend should the opportunity only once (each with the Regional Express).

Education

There are the following facilities (as of 2011):

  • Kindergarten: 50 kindergarten places with 68 children
  • Elementary School: 12 teachers and 175 students
