Fragagnano

Fragagnano ( in the local dialect: Fragnànu ) is a Southeast Italian commune ( comune ) with 5345 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Taranto in Apulia. The village is located approximately 20.5 km west-southwest of Tarentum in Salento. Fragagnano part of the Unione di comuni " Terre del Mare e del Sole", an amalgamation of several municipalities in the eastern part of the province of Taranto.

History

In the village Mancini 1905 settlement remains have been found dating back to 313 BC by archaeological finds. From 700 immersed in cartographies already on the current site.

Traffic

Through the village, Main Road 7ter Appian leads coming from Taranto to Lecce.
