Mottola
Mottola is a municipality ( comune ) with 16,127 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the southern Italian province of Taranto. The community lies on the edge of the Murgia, the Apulian karst landscape.
History
1102, the town was destroyed by a popular uprising.
From the end of the 11th century until 1818 was Mottola seat of a Suffraganbistums of Taranto, it was mt Castellaneta united. In 1968 it was used as a titular Motula.
