Monteiasi

Monteiasi ( in the local dialect: Muntiasi or Muntiase ) is a Southeast Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of Taranto in Apulia. The village is located approximately 12.5 km west-northwest of Taranto.

History

The municipality was created in 1786 as a fief of Ungaro.

Traffic

Passing through the municipality a small section of State Road 7 Via Appia Brindisi. A few kilometers north- west is the commercial airport of Taranto. The station Monteiasi - Montemesola is located on the route from Taranto to Brindisi.
