Montemesola

Montemesola is a Southeast Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4037 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Taranto in Apulia. The community is located about 13 kilometers northeast of Taranto on the edge of the Murgia. Montemesola is part of the Comunità Montana della Taranto Murgia.

History

The foundation of the church probably derives from the construction of the castle in the 13th century.
