Ginosa

Ginosa is a town with 22,555 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Taranto in Apulia.

Ginosa is 54 km west of Taranto. The neighboring municipalities are Bernalda (MT ), Castellaneta, Laterza, Matera ( MT) and Montescaglioso (MT ).

To place belongs to the district of Marina di Ginosa, which lies directly on the coast. This room can accommodate about 100,000 tourists a year.

History

Even in ancient times there was a settlement here. The founding year of the current location is not known. 1554 to 1590 the parish church of St. Martin was built
