Monteparano

Monteparano ( in the local dialect: Muntiparanu ) is a Southeast Italian commune ( comune ) with 2410 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Taranto in Apulia. The municipality is situated approximately 15 kilometers east-southeast of Taranto in Salento. Monteparano Unione dei Comuni is part of the di Montedoro.

History

Skanderbeg is said to have stayed here in the 15th century.
