Fray Justo Santa María del Oro Department

The department Fray Justo Santa María de Oro is located in the extreme southwest of the province of Chaco in the north- western Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered on the north by the departments Doce de Octubre and Dos de Abril, on the east by the department of Mayor Luis Jorge Fontana, on the south by the province of Santa Fe and the west by the province of Santiago del Estero.

The capital of the department Fray Justo Santa María de Oro Santa Sylvina. It is located 240 km from the provincial capital Resistencia and about 1,000 kilometers from Buenos Aires.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC population increased from 10,485 inhabitants (2001) to 13,022 inhabitants in 2005.
