Großlobming is a municipality with 1198 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district court district Mur and Jews Castle in Styria. The place is located at an altitude of 641 m and has an area of 7.37 km ².

Geography

Großlobming lies about three kilometers south of the center of the field Knittel Murboden, at the entrance of Lobmingbachtals. The municipality is bounded on the north by the river Mur.

History

In the year 927 was the first mention of the territory of the Lobming in a deed of the Archbishop of Salzburg. The castle, owned by the Wimpffen family, was sold for the purpose of establishing an agricultural technical school to the provincial government of Styria in 1979.
