Heinrich Isser

Heinrich Isser ( born May 12, 1928 in Matrei am Brenner ) is a former Austrian luger and Bobsportler.

Heinrich Isser comes from a family of successful Austrian bobsled and luge athletes. The family also included Franz, Fritz, Mary, Paul and Joseph Isser. His first successes came first in the sport of luge. The Luge Championships 1951 in Igls, he won with his brother Joseph the silver medal in the doubles. A year later he won with Paul Aste the title in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. In 1953 he joined Cortina d'Ampezzo again with branches in the doubles and drove again to second place. In single-seater Isser was beaten his doubles partner and was second again. The Doppe Aste / Isser won in 1955 in Clausthal his second European title. Since the mid-1950s Isser joined with greater success in bobsleigh. His only participation in the Olympic Winter Games was in 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo. With Aste he finished in two to 12th place, with Karl Wagner, Fritz Rursch and Adolf Tonn in four tenth. When Bob World Cup 1958 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he won the bronze medal with branches in the small Bob. The same medal he won again Bob World Cup in 1962 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, now with his siblings Francis, Joseph and Fritz, in the four-man event.
