Hemmo Silvennoinen

Hemmo Valio Silvennoinen ( born November 6, 1932 in Kesalahti; † December 4, 2002 in Vantaa ) was a Finnish ski jumper.

Silvennoinen launched for the clubs Puijon Hiihtoseura and Helsingin Tovereita.

In the 1954/55 season he won with 878.0 points as the first fin the Four Hills Tournament, in which he to the Finnish " wonder team " included not only Aulis Kallakorpi, Eino Matti Pietikäinen and Kirjonen. The jump in Oberstdorf (1954 ), Innsbruck ( 1955) and Bischofshofen (1955 ) he finished in second and in Garmisch -Partenkirchen (1955 ) in third place. This Silvennoinen was the first ski jumper who won the Four Hills Tournament without a victory. He also won in 1955, the International Ski Flying week in Oberstdorf by Heini Klopfer ski jump.

In the Four Hills Tournament, the 1955/56 season Silvennoinen started as defending champion. Although he defied New Year's Eve over the prescribed alcohol ban and was thrown out of the team, he won the New Year's 1956 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, after his team-mates are complaining Silvennoinens exclusion was lifted.

In the tenth Four Hills Tournament 1961/62 he could be with 843.2 points again third. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 1962 in Zakopane Silvennoinen was with 218.9 points, fourth from the normal hill.
