Thomas Diethart

Diethart Thomas ( born February 25, 1992 Tulln an der Donau) is an Austrian ski jumper. He completed an apprenticeship in teaching industrial clerk and attended for 3 years, the vocational school Mitterndorf in Muerztal.

Career

Diethart reached on 19 January 2008 iron ore on his debut in the FIS Cup the 23th Place. A day later, he already finished as 13th place. Until the 2008/09 season was followed by other operations in the FIS Cup, where a 2nd place on 4 March 2009 in the Japanese Zaō his best result was. In addition, he jumped in the Alps Cup.

On February 13, 2010, he finished third in the FIS Cup in Villach ( Austria ) the 5th Place. Then he won this season, two Alpine Cup.

In July 2010, operations followed in the Continental Cup and FIS World Cup in Villach. Due to the successes he was the end of August first used in Japan in Hakuba Ski Jumping Grand Prix. In December 2010 he again won an Alpine Cup, this time in Seefeld, Austria. In the third competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Innsbruck Diethart was nominated in the national group. On 2 January 2011, he qualified through the 38th place in qualifying for the competition. The next day he won the 28th for the first time in his career World Cup points. He benefited from the disqualification of the Bulgarian Vladimir Sografski, against whom he had lost in the knockout round. On February 6, 2011, he won in Brotterode first time jumping in the Continental Cup.

Diethart achieved in summer and in December 2013, five top ten results in the Continental Cup, including a third place on 21 September 2013 Klingenthal, so that he was nominated for the World Cup event in Engelberg in December 2013. After almost three years of World Cup abstinence and participation in competitions, unterklassigen Diethart qualified there for the main competitions, which he finished with a fourth and a sixth. On January 18, 2014 he won the team competition in Zakopane third place with the Austrian team, reaching his first team podium in the World Cup.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, he reached in the team competition with Thomas Morgenstern, Gregor Schlierenzauer and Michael Hayböck the 2nd place and on the normal hill in fourth place.
