I Do not Wanna Cry is a song by American singer Mariah Carey. The song was written by Narada Michael Walden and her and produced by Walden. It appeared on Carey's debut album, Mariah Carey (1990). The ballad was released as the fourth single from the album in the second quarter of 1991. The song became another number -one hit for Mariah Carey in the United States. Background
I Do not Wanna Cry was Carey's first song that she wrote with Ben Margulies not. As Carey and Walden wrote the song, Carey was excited, according to her, it felt as if the song will be a big success with the radio stations.
