Inverness Highlands North is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Citrus County in the U.S. state of Florida with 2,401 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Inverness Highlands South is bounded on the southeast by the city of Inverness and is approximately 110 km north of Tampa. The CDP is affected by the Florida State Road 44.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 2,401 inhabitants distributed to 1,081 households. The population density was 402 inh. / Km ². 91.0 % of the population were white, 4.7% African American, 0.4% Native American and 1.2% Asian Americans. 0.7 % were members of other ethnic groups and 2.0% in different ethnic groups. 5.8% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 32.7 % of all households lived in 34.0 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 67.2 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.50 persons and the average family size is 2.97 people.

27.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.9 % were 20-39 years old, 25.8 % were 40-59 years old and 23.1 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 39 years. 47.0 % of the population were male and 53.0 % female.

The average annual income was $ 35,426, while 12.4 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.75 % of the population spoke Spanish and 2.25%.
