The market is located in the southern foothills of the Steigerwald.

History
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, the then independent municipality Herrnberchtheim, which was renamed on January 2, 1905 ( previous name Bergtheim ), incorporated. On January 1, 1978, added Bullenheim ( previous name Bülnheim ).

Ippesheim is the largest wine-growing town in Middle Franconia.
Personalities
- Vitus Müller ( * 1561 in Bülnheim, † 1626 ), Protestant theologian and philologist and professor at the University of Tübingen.
- Johann Ferdinand Schlez (1759-1839), author; wrote many popular writings, religious literature, textbooks and literature for teachers
- Albrecht Eyring (1844-1920), church council, fruit-growing pioneer, founder of the Bay. National association for fruit and horticulture, was pastor from 1895 to 1916 in Herrnberchtheim, where its grave is.
