Iran at the 1960 Summer Olympics

Iran participated in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy, with a delegation of 23 athletes (all men) in 24 competitions in five sports part. There were four medals ( one silver and three bronze ) are obtained. The youngest athlete was the wrestler Mansour Mehdizadeh (22 years and 19 days), the oldest athlete was the wrestler Yaqub Ali Shourvarzi (36 years and 121 days). It was the fifth participation in the Olympic Summer Games for the country. Standard-bearer was the weightlifter Mohammad Jafar Salmasi.
