Career

Josef Marha learned how to deal with Puck and club Dukla Jihlava in the Czech extra league team and played his first top-flight game in the season 1992 /93. Although he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft by the Quebec Nordiques in 1994 as 35th in the second round, he played one more season for his club. As a rookie, he scored an assist in two NHL games for the now relocated to Colorado, and renamed the Colorado Avalanche team in the 1995/96 season, but was mainly the farm team, the Cornwall Aces used. In summer 2001, Josef Marha got a contract offer from the HC Davos, which he accepted on the last season of frustration. In his first season in the jersey of HCD he won the Swiss championship with this and proved even then with six goals and eight assists in 16 playoff games, he is a playoff player. Three years later, in the season 2004 / 05, he stood on the side of NHL stars Rick Nash, Niklas Hagman and Joe Thornton again in the final of the NLA - crown, scored ten points scorer in 15 playoff games, thus accounting for its part the 27th league title in the HCD. The following season, they again stood in the playoff final, but failed 4-1 on HC Lugano.

In the season 2006/ 07 the HCD repeated the success of 2005, with Marha shot several game-winning goals and point- best player of the HCD was ( eight goals, six assists ). During the season he extended also his contract with HCD to 2010. In the spring of 2010, Marha decided to return to the Czech Republic, but this decision revised over the summer and signed in August 2010, a new one-year contract at runtime when HC Davos. After the play- off in March 2013 from the Czech Republic ended his active career.
