Jørre Kjemperud

JORRE André Kjemperud ( born August 31, 1968 in Vikersund ) is a Norwegian volleyball and beach volleyball player. He was European champion three times and took part in the Olympic Games.

Career

Kjemperud began at the age of 17 years with the Volleyball Hall. From his home club Vikersund / Moingen he moved to KFUM Oslo and later he played in Randa mountain. Initially he used only beach volleyball to prepare for the indoor season, he completed in 1993 his first Open tournaments with Kristofer Are Hjeltnes.

In 1996 he formed a new duo with his longtime partner Vegard Hoidalen. The following year Kjemperud / Hoidalen won in a purely Norwegian finale against Jan Kvalheim and Bjorn Maaseide the final of the European Championships in Riccione. They also took part in the first World Cup and occupied the 17th place. 1998 succeeded the Norwegians in Berlin, the first success in an open tournament. In the final they defeated the current world champion Guilherme and Pará in Brazil. At the European Championships in Rhodes, the defending champion won the bronze medal. A year later Kjemperud / Hoidalen not arrived at the World Cup in Marseille on rank 25 out. The European Championships in Marseille, they finished in ninth place. The same result there was in the Olympic tournament in Sydney in 2000. The next three European Championships brought the duo's three more bronze medals in a row. Kjemperud played from 2005 Skarlund. The new duo finished after two 1:2 defeat against the Germans Dieckmann / Recker man and the Americans Gibb / Metzger 17th at the World Championships in Berlin. Two years later they failed in Gstaad as a group Last in the preliminary round. At the European Championships in Valencia Kjemperud joined with his old partner to Hoidalen and retired after two three set defeats. With Skarlund he reached 2008 or more top ten results in Open and Grand Slam tournaments. His third Olympic participation ended in 2008 in Beijing after the first round.

2009 and 2010 made ​​Kjemperud again a solid duo with Hoidalen. At the World Cup in their own country they lost in the first round the Austrians Gosch / Horst.
