Kiliansroda

Kiliansroda is a municipality in the southern part of the Weimar area and part of the joint management Mellingen in Thuringia.

Location

The town is located south of the motorway at 4 Mellingen and on the northern edge of the woods to Buchfart. The soils are formed from limestone weathering rock.

History

The Rodungsort was first mentioned in 1441 as Kiligesrode. 1719 the estate of Countess Anna Elisabeth von Gleichen and Hatzfeld and Count Francis Lotharius to Hans Georg Becker and his brother Hans Heinrich Becker was sold. 1923 Elise Becker was the owner of the Comprehensive 145.5 ha manor. This was in 1945 expropriated without compensation.

From the beginning of the 19th century the city was part of the Grand Duchy of Saxe -Weimar- Eisenach, in 1920 the Free State of Thuringia. He was occupied in April 1945 by U.S. troops and in July 1945 by the Red Army and as part of the Soviet zone of occupation and the new state of Thuringia, in 1949 the German Democratic Republic, from 1952 in Erfurt district and since 1990 the place is part of the new founded state, then free State of Thuringia.
