Leutenthal

Leutenthal is a municipality in the northern part of the Weimar area and part of the joint management Nordkreis Weimar.

Location

The Farming place Leutenthal is located about three kilometers southeast of the VG- seat Buttelstedt and approximately 37 kilometers southwest of Schulpforta, the site of the former monastery gate. The residential development is to a large extent on both sides of the Scherkonde. About 80 percent of the municipality is agricultural land, 90 percent of arable land.

History

Leutenthal was first mentioned in 1250 as Ludental occasion of the sale of land to the monastery gate of the monastery exchange Marketers angle in a document. Other shareholding in the local situation is for the monastery Heusdorf detected in 1341 ( at Apolda ). During the Reformation, the monastic estates were magnificent 1552 country ownership, but already about a decade later re-issued as a fief. The resulting from this manor was dissolved in 1842, sold its residential spaces and agricultural land to farmers.

In addition to the prevailing rural employment, there was already in 1541 a mill and extensive in the 16th century Waidanbau. 1843 worked an oil mill and a predominance of small craft enterprises in Leutenthal.

Attractions

  • The village church with a painted wooden barrel vault dates from the 15th century and was rebuilt in the first quarter of the 18th century. In 1993, the St. Vitus consecrated church was re-roofed.

Economy

The development of the agricultural land of the village is run essentially by two agricultural cooperatives, to a limited extent is also part-time farming to find. Supply services and crafts are still resident with a few companies. The municipality since 1994 funding priority in the Thuringian village renewal program.

Cultural Events

The Cultural Association eV Leutenthal maintains both the traditional fun fair, as well as other events in the town.
