Obertrebra
Obertrebra is a municipality in the north -east of the county of Weimar and fulfilling part of municipality Bad Sulza.
Location
Obertrebra is a village of the flood- affected but fruitful Ilmaue between Apolda and Bad Sulza. The county road 107 runs through the village. To the south runs the railway line Weimar Berlin.
History
At the beginning of the 9th century Treba is first mentioned in a list of the Archbishop of Lull († 786) of Mainz awarded for the monastery of Hersfeld outdoor goods as Dribure.
Memorials
A tomb in the churchyard and a memorial plaque on the outside wall of the church are reminiscent of an unknown concentration camp prisoner who was murdered in 1945 during a death march from the Buchenwald concentration camp by SS men.
