Vippachedelhausen

Vippachedelhausen is a municipality in the northern part of the Weimar area and part of the joint management Nordkreis Weimar. In the north of the town is the district Thalborn.

Location

Vippachedelhaisen located in the Thuringian basin north of the city of Weimar and the Great Etter Mountain and south of Kölleda. The country road in 1054 by Neumark leads over the place to Sömmerda.

History

The grave mound on the Palmberg has been documented in several periods with graves. 1868 archaeologists examined the place and found numerous skeletons of different eras up to the early Roman Imperial period and early medieval period. This continuous occupation of the site with burials indicated archaeologists with cultic traditions. The assignment can also be associated with the nearby church.

The place was first mentioned in 1328. W. Kahl has claimed the documentary was first mentioned with the May 18, 876. Until the 16th century it was known as Videlhusen or fiddle camp. The name derives from the settlement Fidelo. A moated castle is documented in 1157 called. She lay on the northern edge of the village where you shards of 9-10. and of the 12th century found. The castle was besieged in 1344 and stormed by troops of the Landgrave. After the destruction of buildings were built up again. In the 20th century everything was modern built over, so that nothing more can be seen from the castle.

In the Middle Ages it was owned by the Count of Weimar- Orlamünde. From the year 1346 a parish under the patronage of the Counts of Weimar- Orlamünde is securitized. Since 1594 a teacher in Vippachedelhausen is detectable. Until 1945 there was only one teacher in the village.

  • Church with cemetery

The church is built in Gothic style. In the east, the sanctuary extends in a polygonal shape. This is followed follows the elongated, four-bay nave, which is bounded by the west tower. Hood and tail tip originate au 1669. A church several grave stones, epitaphs and portraits from the 17th to the 19th century are included. A chalice from the 15th century is kept in the rectory.

The estate has experienced multiple changes of ownership. 1635 two goods securitized, 1765 was the re- merging of ownership. The mansion was built in 1795. From 1888 until his death in 1931 it was owned by the agricultural historian Max Güntz ( 1861-1931 ).

At the southwestern edge of the town is the adventure zoo " tirica ".
