Geography

The municipality, in the currently live about 1,800 inhabitants, is located north of the river Mur, on the eastern edge of the Aichfeld or also in the south of Seckauer basin, at the foothills of the Alps Seckauer ( Seckauer tines, Mary Snow, Tremmelberg ).

History

Already in the year 860, the place was mentioned as "ad Chumbenzam " for the first time in the royal charter of Louis the German documentary. 1151 the parish Archbishop of Salzburg Eberhard I was awarded to the former provost Seckau. On July 8, 2007 Kobenz was appointed 125th market town of Styria. 2012, the project was completed " street name change ", since December 1, new address and the new postcode 8723 for the entire municipality valid.

Policy

Anyone who would like to get active in nature, it takes a lot of facilities: tennis, horse riding, swimming, cycling, and numerous hiking trails are recommended in summer. But even in winter you can enjoy the well-prepared cross-country skiing the snowy landscape.
