Krumbach, Swabia (district)

The district of Krumbach (Schwaben ) ( License Plate KRU ) was a district in the Bavarian administrative region of Swabia. Krumbach ( Schwaben) was the county seat. The main towns of the district that existed prior to its resolution of 49 communities were Krumbach, Thannhausen, Ziemetshausen and Ursberg.

Location

The district of Krumbach was in southwest Bavaria, approximately in the center of the district of Swabia.

Neighboring counties

In the north, bordering the district of Krumbach in the district of Günzburg, on the east by the district of Augsburg (until 1929: District Office Zusmarshausen ), in the southeast to the county Schwab Munich (until 1900: Regional office of Augsburg ) in the south to the county Mindelheim, in the southwest of the county Illertissen and to the northwest by the district of Neu -Ulm.

History

1804, the district was established as a district court Ursberg. 1837 the seat of the district was moved to Krumbach Krumbach and renamed the District Court, 25 years later, in 1862 renamed the county Krumbach. 1880, the county was, by some municipalities of the district offices Illertissen and Mindelheim, but also gave communities in the district office Augsburg ( was 1900-1972, the district office or the district Schwabmunchen ) from. 1939 finally it was renamed the county.

On 1 July 1972, the district of Krumbach (Schwaben ) in the course of municipal reform in Bavaria with the district of Günzburg, the independent city of Günzburg and the communities Schönebach and Uttenhofen (now districts of Ziemetshausen ) that belonged to at this time for the district of Augsburg, summarized for Günzkreis. The former municipalities Hasberg and Tiefenried in the south of the district of Krumbach came to the district of the Lower Allgäu. On 1 May 1973, the new county was given the currently valid name Günzburg.

Geography

The largest part of the territory of the former county is located on the Lower Iller- Lech- gravel boards. Only the areas east of the Mindel lie on the perennial plate. The highest point of the former county is located in the hamlet with about 605m above sea level. NN, the deepest in Kammeltal at Ried or Behlingen with 470m above sea level. NN.

In its resolution, the county had 49 municipalities. In 1900, the then county Krumbach said county, three more municipalities. In 1902 Hürben was incorporated to Krumbach. Three years later, the communities Bayersried and Ursberg merged to community Bayersried - Ursberg. In 1926 the congregation joined the community Hoesel Hurst Wattenweiler.
