Landesliga

Division is in the German league system, the designation of a national league. Often it is thus the highest league in the field of national sports federation. Exists alongside the national league in a sport and region simultaneously a regional league, the League Association usually (not always) is the higher of the two leagues. Subordinated to the national league are the infrequent state classes, but more often the district leagues and district classes.

Hockey

The division is in Germany, the fifth- highest division, and, except in Bavaria and North Rhine -Westphalia, the lowest division within the ice hockey league system in Germany. In Bavaria, the division is divided into two groups. Usually the division is purely a reporting League, ie each club of the state can sign up for the league. Often clubs from other states can sign up for the national league, such as teams from Rhineland-Palatinate both in Hesse, North Rhine -Westphalia, Baden- Württemberg or in their own division Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland can play.

Football

Since the introduction of the 3rd Liga in the 2008 /09 season, the division is in ten of the 21 regional associations of the German Football Association (DFB ), the seventh- highest division in football league system ( in men's football ). In seven regional associations is, however, located on the sixth level or in the Saarland on the eighth stage. In the regional associations of Hesse, Rhineland and Schleswig -Holstein the national league was dissolved. The division will be held in the respective regional associations regularly in several parallel scales that entitle equally for promotion to the next higher league. A single-track division, there are only in the regional associations of Bremen and Saxony.
