Les AuCoin

Les Aucoin ( born October 21, 1942 in Portland, Oregon) is an American politician.

Life

Aucoin graduated from Portland State University and Pacific University in Forest Grove; in the meantime he served from 1961 to 1964 in the U.S. Army.

Member of Parliament

From 1971 to 1974 he was a member of the House of Representatives from Oregon. Aucoin was elected as a Democrat to Congress and represented there of 3 January 1975 to 3 January 1993, the state of Oregon in the U.S. House of Representatives. Les Aucoin was the first Democratic congressman for Oregon's 1st Congressional District.

In the elections of 1992, he did not run for a seat in the House of Representatives, but was trying to be elected to the U.S. Senate. However, he defeated his opponent, the Republican incumbent Bob Packwood.
