The Province of Liège ( Liège French, Dutch Luik? / I ) is one of five Belgian provinces of the Walloon Region. To the west it borders the province of Walloon Brabant, in the south by the provinces of Namur and Luxembourg, in addition to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the German federal states of Rhineland -Palatinate and North Rhine -Westphalia in the east, to the north by the Dutch province of Limburg and the Flemish provinces Limburg and Flemish Brabant.

The Province of Liège comprises 3862 km ² with a population of about 1,034,000; Capital is Liège.

The largest part of the Province of Liège is part of the French-speaking region, and thus the territory of the French Community of Belgium. The easternmost part of the province around the cities of Eupen and St. Vith is part of the German-language area, where it forms the German -speaking Community of Belgium.
