Weismes (French officially Malmedy ) is a municipality in eastern Belgium, Liège Province, with a predominantly French-speaking population, but with language facilities for the minority of the German population ( community facilities ). The municipality covering an area of ​​97.10 km ² counts 7110 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). Together with the community Malmedy forms Weismes the District of Malmedy.

Location

The municipal area extends between the municipalities of Eupen and Bütgenbach to the north and shares with his congregation uninhabited area in the High Fens area of ​​the German-speaking Community. History
