List of cities in Nigeria

This is a list of cities in Nigeria.

The biggest agglomerations in Nigeria are Lagos, with a population of 11,615,563 ( metropolitan area), Ibadan with a population of 4,712,877 and Kano with a population of 4,033,069. Thus, twelve percent of the people of the country focus in these three regions. Capital of Nigeria is Abuja with 1.35 million inhabitants ( calculated 2010).

In the following table are the cities of over 200,000 inhabitants, the results of the Census ( Census ) of 26 November 1991, a calculation for January 1, 2010 and the State, to which the city is listed. The inhabitants numbers refer to the respective urban settlement in the narrower sense - the geographical area the city - not the city or municipality in the political sense.
