Lucie Hradecká

Lucie Hradecká (born 21 May 1985 in Prague, then Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech female tennis player.

Career

Hradecká began at the age of four years of playing tennis. She loves to play on grass. By mid- 2011, she was trained by her ten- year-old sister Petra.

2002 Hradecká played her first match on the professional tour in 2003, she won her first two ITF tournaments.

The Czech team won on November 6, 2011 in Moscow the Fed Cup with a 3-2 victory over Russia.

Her first title on the WTA Tour, she won in 2006 in Portorož, on the side of their Renata VORACOVA. The pairing seeded 4 won the final against Eva Birnerova and Émilie Loit by walkover. In Wimbledon 2006 Hradecká reached the knockout stages with Hana Sromova. In Indian Wells, she moved in 2007, together with VORACOVA the semi-finals of the doubles competition.

On June 3, 2011 Hradecká won by the side of Andrea Hlaváčková the doubles competition of the French Open. The duo secured his first title at a Grand Slam tournament by a 6-4 -, 6-3 playoff victory over Sania Mirza and Elena Wesnina. It was already her fifth joint career title.

In 2011, Hradecká also in individual good results. In April they reached at the WTA tournament in Barcelona with victories over Benesova, Errani and Vinci the final, in May she was first performed in the top 50. They also moved in the WTA tournaments of Memphis and Strasbourg in the half-or quarter-finals and reached also in Indian Wells the third round.

On August 15, she managed the eleventh WTA doubles title in Bad Gastein. After the semi-finals 2012 at the Australian Open on the side of Hlaváčková and the titles of Midland and Memphis as well as the finals in Indian Wells, it improved in May 2012 at position eight of the double world rankings. Then when clay tournament in Madrid she made in the individual competition for attention. As a qualifier start to the tournament, they failed after victories over Shuai Peng, Petra Kvitová, Ekaterina Makarova and Samantha Stosur in the semifinals only to the eventual champions winner Serena Williams. At Wimbledon, she reached in 2012 with partner Hlaváčková the first time the final, which they lost to the Williams sisters in two sets. At the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, they stood again in the final and subject to Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani there with 4:6 and 2:6. In October 2012, she reached for her 15th WTA title ( in Luxembourg ) in double space with 4 their highest ever position.

In Quebec, Hradecká was the first time since the clay tournament in Barcelona in 2011 again in the finals of a WTA tournament. But even in her fifth attempt did not succeed the first individual title on the tour, they lost the final on 16 September 2012 against the Belgian Kirsten Flipkens with 1:6 and 5:7.
